My years spent working with organizations seeking accreditation have made it clear that this process can drain already limited resources at OBS practices, especially those that are new or have no prior experience with accreditation. ACHC’s OBS program is designed for relevance to these organizations with an emphasis on safety and quality standards that support risk management. New practice, but no accreditation?

If you are opening an office-based surgery practice, have applied for state licensure but are not yet accredited, ACHC has great news for you. We’ve created the program to help streamline the initial process and give you the support you need through your first year of operation.

ACHC’s Preliminary Survey Assessment option makes it simple:

1.
First, we’ll perform a brief, targeted survey that focuses on specific accreditation criteria, such as the physical environment, policies and procedures, and the general structure of your office-based surgery services. If you meet the requirements of this survey, we will award Preliminary Accreditation.
2.
Within six months of receiving your Preliminary Accreditation and after your practice has provided procedural services to at least three patients, we’ll perform a more comprehensive survey that addresses all standards. If you’re compliant with all ACHC standards, we’ll award you full Accreditation to begin your triennial cycle.
