| On June 24, 2026, the Maryland Department of Health (MDH) Medicaid Administration released a transmittal to all behavioral health providers.
This transmittal informs providers that MDH is extending its temporary moratorium to January 1, 2027 (an additional six months) on new enrolling Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program (PRP), PRP Health Home, ASAM Level 2.1 Intensive Outpatient (IOP), and ASAM Level 2.5 Partial Hospitalization (PHP) providers for the following counties:
- Anne Arundel County
- Baltimore City
- Baltimore County
- Carroll County
- Frederick County
- Harford County
- Howard County
- Montgomery County
- Prince George’s County
- Washington County
The continued moratorium in these jurisdictions will not impact access to behavioral health services provided by current PRP, PHP, and IOP providers.
