- Bridging the Gap of Oral Care Access
December 20, 2022
Mobile dentistry is increasingly gaining acceptance for the value and flexibility it offers dental practices and patients.
In the past, a lack of access to quality dental services has prevented some patients from seeking care. This was common for residents of assisted living and skilled nursing facilities, patients in remote areas, and those with limited mobility or other challenges.
With the advancement of mobile dentistry, there is increased opportunity for direct dental professional care on site for these patients. Mobile dental units also are beginning to gain traction with schools and businesses for their convenient, on-site services.
Quality Assurance
As dental care expands beyond office settings, quality is usually top of mind.
ACHC is the first accreditor to recognize excellence in mobile dentistry practices. Our Mobile Dentistry Accreditation confirms quality for patients and payors, strengthening trust in mobile dental services.
Accredited providers like Mobile Dental Xpress appreciate that accreditation validates their commitment to quality. “We focus on serving skilled nursing facilities. The staff members want to see an assurance of quality,” said co-owners Gerald and Sonya Dunbar.
The Dunbars also recognize the importance of accreditation in establishing a standard of care for mobile practices, especially in developing effective policies and procedures, and have seen how their accredited status benefits their business.
“Since our accreditation with ACHC, we have acquired three new facilities,” they said. “Now we can continue providing convenient access to dental care because of this recognition.”
